Medical malpractice is believed to have caused when a patient allegedly died because of wrong prescriptions in Mandaue District Hospital in Cebu.
A Facebook user named Cesar A. Coliflores posted how his wife, Jocelyn, died 30 minutes after the doctor injected a medication that is supposed to treat her illness. He claimed that the doctor prescribed the medicine even if his wife did not go any medical examinations. Coliflores also revealed that his wife has been diagnosed with ruptured cerebral aneurysm. The doctor prescribed her with Cefuroxime 75mg and Diphenhydramine or Benadryl.
Coliflores also revealed that his wife has been diagnosed with ruptured cerebral aneurysm. The doctor prescribed her with Cefuroxime 75mg and Diphenhydramine or Benadryl. Cerufoxime is used to treat bacterial infections while diphenhydramine or benadryl is used for allergies, hives, insomnia, motion sickness, and mild cases of Parkinsonism.
The medicines, however, have side effects. Cefuroxime causes chills and discomfort, while Diphenhydramine causes dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and increased chest congestion, among others.
Furthermore, Coliflores posted the autopsy report and the death certificate of his wife, which shows two different causes of death. The autopsy report revealed Jocelyn died because of a sudden cardiac arrest while the death certificate showed the cause of death to be ruptured cerebral aneurysm.
